Booking & Arrival

  • • Swimwear - this is compulsory when using the sauna. Nudity is not permitted. Also, a top tip: remove any hanging jewellery before you go in, as metal can get extremely hot!

    • 2 Towels - one for sitting on in the sauna (it's good etiquette!) and one for changing/drying.

    • A water bottle - hydration is key! We do drinking water available to you, but we do encourage you to bring your own full water bottle.

    • Flip flops/sliders - there are stepping stones around the sauna area so these are optional for comfort.

  • Communal and private sauna sessions are 50 minutes long. To get the most from your experience, we recommend spending no more than 15 minutes in the sauna at one time, followed with a cold-water refresh and time to relax in the surrounding area. The 50-minute session length allows you to enjoy up to three complete hot-and-cold cycles at a comfortable pace.

  • There is a small ante room/changing room within the sauna. Depending on bookings, space may be limited so we recommend to come ready with your swimwear on under your clothing.

There are built in storage boxes in the ante room for your belongings. Please note we do not take any responsibility for your personal belongings. Please only bring essentials with you.

We have 2 warm showers but these are for rinsing only before and after using the sauna and cold baths. Please do not use any shampoos and toiletries.

Please note there is no toilet on site. The nearest toilet is a 3 minute walk away in the adjacent public car park. Or, on your way through to West Pentire, there is a public toilet in Crantock Village. Please respect these public toilets and do not use them when wet.

  • There is limited parking on site as it is a private parking area which is shared with Crantock Bay Holidays and Crantock Leisure Club. If you decide to park on site please park in a Lanow designated parking space. There is a 60 minute maximum stay.

There are two car parks very close by. West Pentire pay and display car park (below The Bowgie Inn) a 2 minute walk away and Polly Joke pay and display car park, a 5 minute walk away.

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your sauna session, please email hello@lanow.co.uk no later than 48 hours before your booked session time to receive a full refund. If you choose to cancel or reschedule your booking within 48 hours you will not be refunded.

The easiest way to reschedule is to use the link in your confirmation email. Please note, you'll need to be outside of the 48-hour cancellation window.

Facilities & Sauna Info

  • Our sauna is electric-heated, which allows us to maintain a consistent and comfortable temperature throughout each session.

We chose an electric sauna not only for its reliable heat control but also out of respect for our unique location and neighbours. Being situated alongside luxury holiday accommodation, an electric powered sauna means there are no smoke, fumes, or wood-burning emissions, so we can provide a peaceful experience for everyone on site.

Many customers also appreciate the steady heat that an electric sauna provides, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable session from start to finish.

  • We offer two simple, natural ways to cool down after your sauna:

    • Two natural cold water baths - filled with fresh water daily (no chiller system or chemicals). As they’re natural systems, the temperature can vary depending on the weather and time of year, making each dip a slightly different experience.

    • Bucket shower - a quick and refreshing cold-water pour for an instant cool-down.

Both options are designed to complement your sauna session, helping you reset between heat cycles and enjoy the full hot and cold rhythm of the experience.

  • You must be 16 years or older to use the sauna, cold water baths, or cold bucket shower. Unfortunately, there are no exceptions to this rule.

  • No, food and drink are not allowed inside the sauna.

The only exception is water, which you’re welcome to bring in to stay hydrated during your session.

  • Our sauna comfortably accommodates up to 8 people. Whether you're joining a communal session or booking a private hire with friends, there is plenty of room to relax and enjoy the experience.

  • Absolutely! If it's your first sauna experience, take it easy and listen to your body.

    • Arrive well hydrated and bring a water bottle.

    • Start with 5–10 minutes in the sauna and gradually build up to 15 minutes as you become more comfortable.

    • After leaving the sauna, cool down with a cold shower, cold-water plunge, or fresh air before resting.

    • Most guests enjoy 2–3 rounds of heat, cooling, and relaxation during their session.

    • Wear comfortable swimwear and bring a towel to sit on.

    • Avoid alcohol before or during your session.

    • If you feel dizzy, light-headed, or uncomfortable at any point, leave the sauna and cool down.

Remember, there is no prize for staying in the longest, the best sauna experience is the one that feels good for you. Relax, slow down, enjoy the warmth and the views.

  • Your health is the top priority. The use of our sauna and cold plunge facilities is entirely at your own risk. If you have any pre-existing health conditions (such as pregnancy, heart conditions, high/low blood pressure, or asthma), we strongly recommend you consult your GP before booking.
